5) How have you benefited from this workshop?

I better understand FLATE and how to take advantage of it.

Tale some ideas I can use and implement on my class

Took ideas back to other teachers at my school.

I went to two other workshops first and found the presentations repetitive, I ended up last at this one and it was awsome - I have already used it in the classroom.

Would like to have a bit more detail in regards to contact information, lesson plan availability, field trip planning. What was covered was good for those teachers living in Hillsborough County, but would have liked to hear more about contacts in Brevard County. Contact information was a little too vague.

I plan to use the robot arm idea in my class.

I received some handouts and an web site address.

not really; it was middle school level, whereas I teach high school

By learning about the programs that are available through UCF to the h igh schools.

Yes in regards to know what FLATE is and what they have to offer.

WE ARE DOING A MANUFACTURING EXHIBIT IN OUR MUSEUM SO IT WAS JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR

I will be using all of the rocket projects Les presented in my Technology classes.

A lot of information to give to my students. It was great!

I now know that the field of engineering is wide open to young ladies and minority students and I will be happy to present this to my students here at my Title I school.

Yes, I received materials and ideas that I can use in my classroom.

I have truly benifitted from the workshop and I plan on using the information dispersed in my classroom.

6) Was there anything that should have been covered?

It was just fine.

The amount of time was adequate

Other materials or topics where resources are available.

see #5 and #8

I would have appreciated insight into any available robotic arm kits for the classroom that produce an actual arm.

The workshop was half the time as the others and was very vague.

no

No

I was looking more for materials, strategies to entice students to pursue careers in engineering. Ways to get them interested. Materials, ideas that could be incorporated into what we were already doing.

It was fine.

7) Do you have any suggestions for topics you would like to see covered in the 2009 FEEC workshops?

Not at this time, but I'm sure I'll think of something later on.

Schedule more technical workshops

More elementary activities being offered.

see #5 and #8

As many actual hands on classroom projects as possible.

No

no

If you are reviewing the Engineering Websites the session needs to be conducted in a computer lab so the teachers can review the websites as they are being discussed.

See comments in conference evaluation.

Anything that involves hands-on projects, such as Les' paper rockets. Building bridges or towers using spaghetti, tape, and index cards. Or, same project, using 1/8" balsa.

I wanted more tangible methods, strategies, materials, ideas to be employed to entice middle schools students to pursue engineering.

More of the same, maybe longer with more presenters.

More information on grants and available things for Middle School students. I enjoyed the projects presented.

I would like a workshop on ways to get more minorities and women in the field of engineering.

8) Please enter any other comments you may have.

I was very satisfied with this year's conference.

Please, provide a map for the workshop rooms, so we can find them easier.

I'd like to see more workshops that are hands-on at each level.

I would like to see this workshop and the presenter again so I can learn from him the items I missed while in other workshops.

I thouroughly enjoy the ability to speak with others from industry and the other area high school teachers to compare notes/teaching methods, etc.

The workshop turn into a discussion between the presenter and people that they had already deal with. Not very informative.

Great conference ! It was worth the 4 hour drive at 5 am.

Enjoyed the workshop immensely.

leslie Gold was an excellent facilitator and was well versed in his subject matter.
